Abstract

The Nigerian economy requires mathematics that can effectively put science and technology in the fore front of nation building. This paper reviewed the concept of mathematics and role of mathematics in nation building, the importance and challenges of mathematics were highlighted. Finally, Mathematics Education and depressed economy were discussed, then conclusion and recommendation are given.
