Abstract

This paper attempts to examine how educational standard can be improved in Katagum Emirate with particular reference to Katagum Local Government area through effective inspection and supervision of schools. The major focus of the paper is to show the challenging role of schools supervisors and how they can utilize their offices wisely for the improvement of educational standard in the Local Government Area. The scope of this paper has extended to all categories of supervisors within and outside the institutional setting. Among the recommendations were State Ministry of Education should employ more supervisory personnel; school supervisors should not be assigned extra-duties as well as supervisors should be adequately motivated to enhance their morale and increase productivity
